LINDY HOP 101 >>

Description: In this course, you will learn basic 6-count patterns, as well as the basic 8-count patterns which set Lindy Hop apart from East Coast Swing or Ballroom. Steps will include simple turns, passbys, the Swingout, the Lindy Circle, and basic '40s Charleston. Class can be repeated as often as necessary until you feel comfortable with all of the moves. This course is appropriate for beginners.

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! PERFECT FOR BEGINNERS!

SWINGOUT SEMINAR >>

Description: If you already know 6-count East Coast Swing and want to learn or brush up on the foundations of Lindy Hop, this is the class for you! We'll spend 4 weeks breaking apart, molding, and refining your Swingout! You'll also learn some variations on the Swingout to broaden your dance vocabulary. Swing dancers never stop working on their Swingout, so no one is too advanced for this class!

INTERMEDIATE BLUES >>

Description: This class begins on the foundation that you are familiar with the step-tap and understanding of different forms of blues dancing. You already know what juke joint, ballroomin' and fishtailing are. You feel comfortable establishing distance and gently connecting with your partner. You know what frame is. In this course, you'll learn synocopations, weight/momentum/level changes, stylings (for everyone), and all manner of axis movements in our Intermediate Blues class!

Cost: $40 / person for the full 4-week series; $12 / week drop-in

Description: If you feel comfortable with the basic 6-count and 8-count steps that you learned in 101, and you are able to lead or follow them easily, you're ready to move on to our 4-week Lindy Hop 201 course. Here's our current plan for each week (subject to change):

Week One -- Moves with Arm Leads
Week Two -- Moves with Body Leads
Week Three -- Partnered Charleston (must know partnered Charleston basic)
Week Four -- Lindy Grab Bag -- You never know what you'll get!

This is the first time that we have ever let student drop in only for the classes they are interested in. Sign up for the full series for $40, or pick and choose and pay for each class individually for $12 each week.

PREREQUISITE: Lindy Hop 101: The Basics, OR at least 2 months of social dancing, and a high level of comfort wth 6-count and 8-count basics. Although not required, we highly recommend taking our Swingout Seminar prior to Lindy Hop 201.
